Tracy Gallagher
Travel Expert/Host

Travel expert Tracy Gallagher offers a wealth of insider information for every aspect of leisure travel, from family vacations in the United States to exotic trips around the world.

She has been with the Travel Channel since 1998. During that time, she has hosted a series of shows and specials, including the daily strip Travel Daily, The Short List, World’s Best, Islands For Rent, The Best of Rio, Conde Nast Traveler’s Hot List, and the current family travel show Are We There Yet?. She has served as the travel expert for the channel, and is also known as the host of the upbeat interstitials that have aired for years on the Travel Channel to promote various aspects of the network’s programming.

In 1999, Gallagher also co-hosted the Conde Nast Traveler annual international awards ceremony, the CONDÉ NAST TRAVELER READERS CHOICE AWARDS in Strasbourg, France.

As an expert, Gallagher offers tips and ideas to help people become proactive travelers. During her time on Travel Daily, the daily travel news and information that she co-hosted, Gallagher interviewed everyone from in-the-know journey junkies to well-known travel writers. In addition to her in -studio hosting duties, Gallagher has traveled the world for the Travel Channel, reporting on destinations as diverse as Egypt, Portugal, Germany, Hong Kong, Fiji, Brazil, France, Spain, and Morocco.

Aside from her Travel Channel duties, Gallagher has served as a regular travel correspondent for MSNBC’s Homepage and contributed to their website. Gallagher’s other appearances include The Oprah Winfrey Show, CNN, Later Today, Livin’ it up with Ali and Jack, Extra, Inside Edition, The Ananda Lewis Show, and KNX AM.
Gallagher has been published in various local newspapers on topics such as traveling while pregnant, to bringing a spouse on a business trip. She has also written for “Catholic Digest,” and was on Redbook’s magazine’s panel of experts. She is currently a spokesperson for Hilton Garden Inn.

Outside of travel, she also hosts a lifestyle show on Fine Living called "Cool Kids' Parties."

Gallagher is an experienced reporter and producer, with more than ten years of experience in television. For five years, she worked at KRON & BayTV News in San Francisco, where she co-hosted a two-hour live morning news show, reported the news, anchored updates, and produced news segments She also co-wrote and co-produced Coppola and the Rainmaker, a special biography about Bay Area filmmaker/winemaker Francis Coppola.

Gallagher completed her Bachelors degree at UCLA, and her Masters in journalism at Northwestern University.
